Mid-Autumn Lantern Making Contest 

Theme: Flower and Mid-Autumn  

Location: Level 3, Next to Artistic Studio, Megah Rise Mall 

Time: 11:00am – 7:00pm 

1. This Contest, Mid-Autumn Lantern Making Contest on 25 August 2024, organised by Megah Rise Mall (“Organiser”) is open to participants aged 7 - 18 years old. There are three categories, which are Category A for participants aged 7 - 9 years old; Category B for participants aged 10 - 14 years old and Category C 15 - 18.  

2. All participants are required to bring their own art materials (i.e. scissors, paper cutter, multi-coloured cellophane papers, decorative items, colour paper, glue, old newspaper or cutting mat, stationaries and colouring materials such as colour pencils, poster colour, magic colour pens, fluorescent marker & etc) on the Contest day. 

3. The artwork for the lantern must feature the Flower and Mid-Autumn Festival theme. All drawing, colouring, cutting and pasting must be done on the Contest day. 

4. The Organiser will provide each participant with a white lantern which measures 14-inches in diameter on the Contest day. 

5. The score and ranking for the prizes will be based on judges’ scores. The judges’ score will be based on creativity, neatness, colour combination, proximity to theme and overall presentation. The final score will be composed of 80% from the judges' evaluations and 20% from 20% from the public votes. 

6. Crowd Voting: Crowds can vote for their favourite lanterns displayed at Megah Rise Mall from 25 August until 8 September 2024. 

7. The judges’ decision is final and no further requests, claims or correspondence whatsoever will be entertained. 

8. Participants hereby agree to allow the Organiser to display the lantern at Megah Rise Mall after submission. 

9. The Organiser reserves the right and sole and absolute discretion to reject and disqualify any Lantern deemed unsuitable for display, offensive in nature or which are not compliant with the Terms & Conditions of the Contest. 

10. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify winners who are found to be in breach of the Terms & Conditions stated herein. 

11. Each winner is entitled to one prize only and all prizes are not exchangeable for cash. 

12. Winners announcement and prize presentation will be held on 14 September 2024 (Saturday), 12.30pm at Ground Floor, Main Atrium, Megah Rise Mall. 

13. The Organiser will not be held responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever caused to the Lantern after the Lantern have been submitted to the Organiser and no claims whatsoever can be made against the Organiser in such an event. Lantern which have been submitted to the Organiser for the Contest are not returnable. 

14. The Organiser will not be responsible for any accident, mishap, death, damage or injuries occurring during the Contest or in connection with the Contest in any manner whatsoever. No claims of any kind can be made against the Organiser. Participants agree to be bound by the Terms & Conditions and final decision of the Organiser. 

15. The Organiser retains all rights to publish and use the names, personal details, photographs and/or video recordings of the participants including all materials submitted during the Contest for the purposes of advertising and/or trade publicity for promotions, without any prior notice to the participants and/or their parents/guardians who by submitting their entries to the Contest hereby consent or for parents/guardians, have consented on behalf of the participants, to such use by the Organiser. All participants and/or their parents/guardians on behalf of the participants shall not be entitled to claim ownership or other forms of claims or compensation whatsoever on any of the materials submitted to enter the Contest. By submitting an entry to the Contest, each participant and/or their parents/guardians hereby consent to continue receiving promotional materials and information from PPB Hartabina Sdn. Bhd. 

16. The Organiser reserves the right at its sole and absolute discretion to amend the terms and conditions mentioned above or in connection with the Contest at any time without prior notice. 

17. The Organiser reserves the right at its sole and absolute discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest at any time without prior notice. 

18. The Organiser’s decision on any and all matters in respect of the Contest is final and conclusive and no further challenges, objections, requests, claims or correspondence whatsoever will be entertained. 

19. Upon submitting an entry to the Contest, the participant and/or their parent/guardian on behalf of the participant is deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of this Contest and the participant acknowledges that he/she has read and understood PPB Hartabina Sdn. Bhd.’s Privacy Policy and Personal Data Notice which can be found on Megah Rise Mall’s website (https://megahrisemall.com.my/privacy-policy-and-personal-data-notice) and consents to the usage, collecting, recording and processing of his/her personal data for the purposes stated in such notice and in connection herein.
